FIFA Orders PSSI to Continue Program Amid Conflicts

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has held a meeting with the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) in Jakarta. PSSI secretary-general Ratu Tisha said the session was a follow-up visit of the world soccer federation two weeks earlier to Sawangan.

During that time, Tisha said her side was establishing a program Indonesian Football Philosophy (Filanesia). “So, FIFA's presence today aims at exploring the running program of PSSI,” she said in Jakarta, Thursday, April 11.

The world organization, she added, specifically planned to ensure the PSSI in implementing the designated program dubbed FIFA Forward in the midst of numerous issue in the association and ahead of the extraordinary congress (KLB).

“FIFA orders us to review PSSI 2018 Statue because they have a new edition,” she said.

FIFA Forward is a football development program that focuses on trainers, players, and referees. Its programs include courses and establishment of 18 Elite Pro Academy.

When asked about the extraordinary meeting, Tisha said that there was no special talk with FIFA considering the plan was under the authority of the executive committee.

"They just want to make sure that the program is running and FIFA will maintain the assistance,” she noted.

Attending the meeting in the PSSI office was Fifa's manager of member association Luca Nicola and Rolf Tannar, as well as Purushottam Kettel from Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
